In the spring of 2013, God began to open our eyes to the prevalence of sexual abuse of girls and young women in the San Quintin Valley. After a lot of prayer, discussion with local Mexican pastors and with the knowledge of many more incidents of abuse, we strongly felt God calling us step up and build a refuge facility. Casa de Refugio, House of Refuge, is God’s fulfillment of that vision. After a few years of planning and construction, OLOCM is completing the final stages of the building. We look forward to operating The House of Refuge in the near future.
We need your help! This building still needs to be furnished, decorated, and supported long term. We need people to help supply it with its daily needs such as toiletries, food, and clothing. A little can go a long way!
The House Parents will care for the children at the House of Refuge in all aspects of their daily life including providing physical, emotional, intellectual, social and spiritual care.Applicants must be team players who follow administrative direction but can also be proactive. The ideal candidates love the Lord and also have a clear call to serve vulnerable children. This couple must be compassionately authoritarian toward hurting and non-trusting children as well as having the ability to be nonreactive to hostility.The candidates desire to positively affect the lives of children in the San Quintin Valley for the glory of God and His Kingdom.This position requires the successful applicant to reside in the San Quintin Valley, BC, Mexico.This is a full time position.
