It all started in 2009, when I did my DTS with YWAM in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. God awoke a desire in me to serve abroad, and he gave me a love for the Latin American culture, language, and people. In 2012, I returned to Santa Cruz for a year and a half and worked at the YWAM base with different schools, and served as a translator. During this trip to Bolivia, God continued to work in my life, and transform my heart. In 2015, I went down to San Quintin with OLCOM for the first time, as a translator and ministry staff. I loved my experience there and this year will be my third summer. I love connecting with the families, the children, and the pastors in the communities, and working with the teams and staff that come down. It’s an opportunity to be used by God in incredible ways, and I am so thankful for the opportunity to be a part of what God is doing in the San Quintin Valley.
My name is Caitlin Simpson and I am twenty one years old. This is my first time serving with One Life One Chance as staff and I am very excited to see what God has in store for me during my time in Mexico. I cannot wait to see how God works through me within the local communities of San Quintín.
My name is Emma Wiens and I have been connected with OLOCM for 7 years now. My first trip down to México was in 2010 with a group from my church. Ever since that first trip, I wanted to be a volunteer. This past March I was able to serve for 2 weeks! God has given me a passion and a love for the people of the San Quintin Valley and I can’t wait to put that love into action! I am super excited to see what God has in store for the groups that come down and for the people who will be reached.
I am a husband and father of two very active boys. My wife is due with our third in September. I currently work at Stillwood Camp in Columbia Valley and I am actively a part of a Vineyard church here in Chilliwack. I’ve been called to full time ministry and some of what that ministry looks like in my life has been leading a puppet team, co-leading a prayer ministry in our church with my wife, and serving on the worship team. I am very excited to be going to Mexico with One Life One Chance! Back in the day, Rob Wall was my youth leader and mentor and now I am excited to see what God has in store as I head down to Mexico and pour myself out for Jesus. My desire is to serve Him anywhere, and He has given me such an awesome opportunity to do just that with OLOCM. I want to see people come to know Jesus in a powerful way and be His hands and feet.
My name is Michelle, I am currently studying Global Development at UFV, and I am so excited to return to Mexico this summer. I am looking forward to continuing to build strong connections with families and churches, and to bear witness once again to the amazing work that the Lord is doing in San Quintin.
In the summer of 2012, I made my first trip to Mexico with One Life for a week. I was overwhelmed by the love and hope displayed by the Mexican people, and knew that I wanted to be a part of an organization who’s focus was entirely on revealing the love Jesus brings. I asked God to use me – to show me where I could be His hands and feet. I have been able to serve as staff OLOCM for the last two summers and this past spring, focusing primarily on house builds and children’s ministry. I look forward to serving in the 2017 summer season, and cannot wait to see what incredible things God has in store.
I grew up as a pastor’s daughter, moving around a lot all over BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan. My passions are writing, anything creative and outreach ministry . . . especially with kids and pre-teens. My hope for this summer working with One Life One Chance is to use these passions to do God’s work, to bless people and to get to work alongside other individuals who also love God and want to use their lives and passions for the kingdom. I am looking forward to my time down in Mexico and can’t wait to see what God has in store for us!
I was first introduced to One Life One Chance in 2009 as a teenager on a
missions trip with my church. Last year, I was able to return with my church with more of
a leadership role in the group and was able to see the full extent of the exciting things
that God is doing in San Quintin. I have grown a greater desire to fulfill a bigger role in
all the wonderful things that God has planned for the area by serving with a humble and
joyful attitude. I look forward to being able to witness even more relationships between
God and His people be cultivated and nurtured this summer.
